Written by a teenager, KEEPING FAITH follows the story of twenty-year-old Kalen Kendrickson, a struggling artist with a pregnant girlfriend and a younger brother, who has a brain tumour. Life is difficult for Kalen, who copes with the tragedies and hardships of his life by turning to drugs. As Kalen's girlfriend becomes heavily pregnant, Kalen is still haunted by his past - growing up poor and growing up in a world of drugs. He is also haunted by graphic nightmares which make him question everything - will he be a good father? Does he trust his girlfriend Eden? Does he trust anybody? As the film progresses and Kalen's artwork is finally appreciated, through the help of his younger brother Elijah, things are finally looking up for Kalen. However, after the death of Elijah, Kalen becomes lost and his relationship with Eden, strained. Kalen was aware of Eden and Elijah's close friendship, but through a vivid nightmare, Elijah reveals a secret about his relationship with Eden. When Kalen wakes, he asks Eden if the events of the dream were actually true. Finding out Eden slept with Elijah pushes the already unstable Kalen over the edge. A drug-induced suicide is his final mark on the world. A world of pain, tragedy and bad luck.
