This short story is a fictional piece that hopes to incite many questions within the reader. It is more or less a commentary on the topic of Capital Punishment and is up for interpretation. The narrator begins by presenting us a question, and that is should he spare him. There are a multitude of ways one may interpret this story, and what is being stated, as the narrator presents his own views with the situation at hand.
