Babylon

The Client of the Whore of Babylon is dying.   We hear how he came to be the lover of the Great Whore.  And in his story lies the story of the last 5,000 years of civilisation; from Sumeria to Babylonia, Egypt, Rome, Britain and now to the great empire of the United States of America.  But as we see his-story laid out  before us, what begins to appear is her-story.  It was his great arrogance and greed which turned her into the "Whore".        And now, with his death, brings the possibility for something entirely new - someone who may be able to transform "the Great Whore" into something of her original glory - the Glory which is the simplicity of Love.

Mañanayer
1 part / 9 pages
,
updated Dec 28, 2013

Mañanayer (Tomorrow/Yesterday) a timeless, nameless, mystical place “which probably never was, most likely never will be, but most certainly is right now. “  It is a place where the movement of Time is measured by Three Spinsters; the history of the past and future is recorded by Four Brothers who argue in their caves surrounding the town, and an ancient Tree watches over the whole place, holding it in its great, motherly roots..  It is inhabited by: Holden Finn - a young orphaned vagabond seeking his lost mother, true Love, and a place to call home.  Maria - sent to a nunnery in her youth, expelled for converting priests to the ways of love, Maria has enraptured the town with her patient, abundant charms. Sanchez – Maria’s long time lover, possibly a sorcerer, and the sweeper of La Iglesia del Casamiento Divino (the church of the Divine Wedding)  La Doña - a mystical force of Mother Nature herself -  who provides all the food for the village as well as work for lovesick girls who water the plants with their tears.  Alejandro Fuego y Fierra – the cruel dictator who rules the town with an iron fist.  Holden Finn, now 97 years old, once again walks the road to this other world that is Mañanayer.  He retells tales of his life there, tales which Maria told on the eave of her execution, tales that truly make up the bricks and mortar that are this magical place – Mañanayer.

My love for you is irreplaceable. Your eyes sparkle like the night stars, it’s like they are telling me not to go.    Days don’t go by without me thinking about you.   My love for you is precious and most powerful.   I could hold your hand forever not letting you go.   You remind me of the calm sea, calmly slapping the shore.   I will never go I will always be close.

1 part / 6 pages
,
updated Nov 18, 2013

In the oldest of times the animals were the gods.  The lowliest of them all, Sloth, goes on a great journey to seek his beloved.  He is joined by Monkey - a far swifter and more complicated character who never-the-less is much taken by Sloth's great determination.  Through spending time with Sloth, Monkey begins to see the genius in Sloth's slow, steady ways and even more significantly, his great devotion to love.  Eventually Monkey finds himself in the ridiculous position of competing with Sloth for the She Sloth's attentions. But through it all,  in spite of himself, Monkey's own devotion to Love shines through,  bearing fruit as Monkey builds the great Temple of Love and truly finds love for himself.
