I only just realised today how beneficial a tending of one's mental health is. A lot of us are struggling outwardly because we do not attend our psychological needs. Like food is good for our wellbeing, and an occasional bath is good for your scent and all, it is also good that we take some time to provide for our mental space, to feed it to clean it etc.. Now how do we do this: I'm no expert however I know that seclusion is good, being on your own and meditating over your identity, goals and visions is very important. Here's the thing, we as people remember who everyone is , but forget who we are- it is possible. You are more than who you feel you are, you are more than feelings- you are more than your insecurities. You are a groundwork of hardcore facts that you constantly have to assert to yourself. You are beautiful, you are God's workmanship, you are smart you are intelligent. The tricky thing we have as people is that our DCP (data collecting processes) is based on memory, which means your mind sees what you have done along the years and extrapolates it towards the future, essentially the phrase the brain uses is that 'You did then, you'll do it again in the future' or contrapositively 'You didn't do it then, and you won't do it in the future.' . This lives no space for hope ,or progress in our minds. If you do not actively channel your mind , you'll live a fearful life. You have to keep your mind in check, always. Whisper some positive words. One thing remarkable factoid about the mind is also the most dangerous. Our brains are highly analytical, an example of this is how we perceive relative distance, say from a moving car to you, the processes that are happening in your mind are so complex without you even knowing it. The brain knows when the car is moving fast in enough to exceed your speed of escape or running, then it sends panick signals all in a blink of an eye, this is crazy. That is why we have an idea call fear, now this is essentially a way of conscientizing the body of an even that could possibly harm it. That is all it is. The body and the brain have no sense of purpose for us but staying alive. This means that they thrive on our comfort zone, the mind can't risk being broke, can't risk humiliation, can't risk being homeless , can't risk taking big strides. This is a natural mechanism to make sure you live the most comfortable lives we can. But we don't want comfort, nothing big ever comes from comfort. So how do we combat this fear? By asserting goals and purposes in our lives, it is important to have those 5am conversations with ourselves, to write down and internalise what God has said about us. The only rewiring our mind needs I constant mediation, we are transcendental beings, our transcript is known and written by the heavens.
