"I Joy Over Thee With Singing"
1 part / 1 page
,
updated Dec 28, 2013

In this poem, God is singing over His child as He offers hope and healing to the abuse survivor. The restoration He can bring to a shattered life turns darkness to light, ashes to beauty, and heart-shreds to golden threads.

A Circle of Friends
1 part / 3 pages
,
updated Aug 21, 2017

A CIRCLE OF FRIENDS written by Brandon BrawnerDEDICATED TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE TOUCHED MY LIFE A CIRCLE of FRIENDS you are to me,You lift me up and set me free; You open my eyes when I cannot see,To show me what I can be. Each of us with a wisdom,Different in our view;Wisdom from experience,And we offer it to you.
From you to me it passes,Around our circle of friends; There are no situations,For which we cannot make a mends. Within our circle grows,A love that’s stronger still; Each of us we know,How this can be real. It can be real with goodness,And caring attitudes;Reaching out to others,When they feel the blues. As one link can weaken,The others will be strong; And within this CIRCLE,LOVE will be the bond. A bond that lasts forever,In this life and past;Together we have forged a CIRCLE,That throughout time will last. Each we walk our own path,Living the life we must; But when we come together,We form a CIRCLE of TRUST.

Lean on me my BROTHERS,And my SISTERS too;For when you cannot walk alone,Your FRIENDS are there for YOU. It’s the building of a foundation,Relationships are the key;Listen to these words for a message,Of what you mean to me. Consider yourselves to lucky,That we all are who we are;And TRUST within this CIRCLE,Whether you’re near or far. A CIRCLE of FRIENDS you are to me,You lift me up and set me free; You open my eyes when I cannot see,You are more than just FRIENDS;YOU ARE MY FAMILY!   © Brandon Brawner, February 11, 2002

A Single Feather
1 part / 2 pages
,
updated Nov 22, 2013

This is a poem about how a single feather drifting from the skies sees the world as a whole. Many of us do not notice a feather gliding in the breeze, so I thought it would be interesting to convey these ideas into a poem. The gravity on an object as light as a feather is very weak, so it is allowed to spend a long time floating through the air; during this time, it has an omniscient view of all of us. The personification of a feather sees so much, but very few of us notice as it falls to the ground.

ALL I WANT IS TO BE FREE
1 part / 1 page
,
updated Jul 04, 2017

I want to be free I often find myself in this desolated place of nothingness My anxiety filled world where my tears are the streams that flow from north to east  That once open they risk the chance of overflooding my conscious mind  Subliminally I lay in angst, awaiting some kind of relief Relief...sure it comes in different forms but all are merely 7 seconds in heaven  Subliminally I barricade my heart and my thoughts praying for some kind of freedom    All I want is to be free Be that carefree child who plays on trees at two or three And before you judge me take judgement upon thine self I mock myself at times like a rustic old rag sitting atop a dusty shelf Emotionally and mentally disjointed   I want to be free Unhinged untouched not tampered with I want to be free Let memories of old be the past I sing off key These shackles around my brain and my heart need to destroyed cause,  All I want is to be free Care-free so free Away from this world of anxiety where my tears are merely streams that overflow this place of nothingness  Let torment be the last thing I pray to end As I lay my head down All I want is to be free.

As you sleep
1 part / 1 page

updated Apr 02, 2017

You're lying in my bed, and I'm supposed to sleep? Lying there so beautiful and smelling oh so sweet Listening to your breathe and caressing every curve I want to wake you up but I haven't got the nerve So I lie here my heart pounding wanting you so bad I ache Thinking of what I'd do to you if only you were awake But lying there so peaceful and so very pretty To take you from that state seems like such a pity So I'll just watch you sleep and breathe all of you in Cause who knows when a moment so beautiful will come again
