An Expats Experience's of Living in Turkey
2 parts / 2 pages
,
updated Apr 06, 2015

My book ‘An Expat’s Experiences of Living in Turkey’ is based on the many and varied experiences that have occurred during the past 25 years spent living in Turkey. It starts with how as an Englishman I came to arrive here in 1989 and why within a very short space of time my late wife and I decided to buy a plot of land and have a house built in a quite village down on the Mediterranean Coast. What followed from our decision to uproot and move to Turkey is a mixture of joy, happiness, distress, frustration, grief and finishing with extreme happiness, with my now living in a completely new environment and enjoying a second life here in Turkey. Scattered throughout the book are various tips and suggestions on a variety of things that can help those thinking of either just buying a holiday home here, of moving to live here permanently.

Be Thankful For What You Have
1 part / 11 pages
,
updated Feb 17, 2017

The saying in life is really true that a persons life can change overnight! Mine did in 2010 when I woke up with a swollen leg, that afternoon I was in an emergency room in Hackensack NJ. The Ultra sound showed 3 blood clots! The one in my leg was called Deep Vein Thrombosis and the other two were by both lungs called Pulmonary Embolisim. Between 2 hospital stays, 3 leg operations, and a stay in physical rehab I was in a bed for 30 days. I always say Be Thankful For What You Have!

Down by The Riverside

This book has been composed to show others that hardships in life can be learning experiences or that which destroys us. It is a personal choice.  My entrance into life was with a bang, on the back of a flatbed pickup truck in 1960.  A life that was presumed to be only for a few hours, but 50 plus years later I am still here!  As a Pastor, Motivator, Parent, and Spouse - the desire to make certain that people reach their goal no matter what they encounter in life is my passion. My life story compiled with life application instructions can touch any audience. I believe that it will encourage any one regardless of their age, gender, or status in life.  It is based on my personal life and supported with scripture, but I believe that anyone will find comfort in how life trials don’t have to destroy our hopes

1 part / 8 pages
,
updated Dec 30, 2015

“Follow in the Tigerman's Footsteps,” sub-titled “The Adventurous Life of an Expat,” is about a life most only dream about. It reads more like an adventure story than a memoir, being packed with crazy, exciting and at times, frightening situations, mixed with a blend of humor.  The book shows the kind of life that as an expat worker is possible. Instead of a boring 9-5 job, you could be off out traveling to a variety of different countris than your own at no expense to yourself.

From infertility to pregnancy
1 part / 9 pages
,
updated May 22, 2014

"When we decided to start a family we thought it was just a question of time. But then we found out that we suffered from infertility. What followed was a long and emotional journey. I understood all the facts of infertility, but my emotions were so strong and often so confusing. Was that normal? How could I get through it? That’s why I wrote down my feelings and what was happening throughout my journey from finding out about infertility to finally becoming a Mummy. This is not a medical book, but if you are looking for comfort in knowing that other people have gone through this before you, struggled with their emotions just as much and want to hear their story, then it is the book for you. If my writing helps only one person to find a little bit of strength and hope from my story, my suffering was not for nothing. My journey resulted in a beautiful baby." This is the journey of a young woman on her journey to motherhood. It starts with excitement which slowly moves into devastation and fear but eventually ends with a happy ending. The story is a true life story from a young woman who kept a diary of her emotions and experiences whilst going through the emotional and physical stress you can experience when IVF treatment becomes your only chance for motherhood.

Going Home
1 part / 2 pages
,
updated Jan 24, 2017

A first hand account of the day I met my biological father with glimpses into memories of a childhood torn by a toxic mother, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side.     ... I thought about the times as a teenager when my mother was angry and she would say that I should go live with my father.  "But he's dead, remember?" I'd reply.  "Oh trust me. I am aware" she'd spit back...
